We understand that immigrants and newcomers may face many challenges settling into a new community. There are many things for you to do and many things may be new to you. Some of the things you need to do include;- Finding a place to live

- Become familiar with a new society and culture
- Develop a network of friends and social support.

Service begins with an assessment and identification of all your settlement needs. Depending on the assistance you require, the Settlement Services Coordinator will provide direct assistance, written information and/or referrals to both on-site and off-site services. We will do all we can to help you settle and become part of your new community.
Settlement Services
- Information and orientation about life in Canada, Swan River, and The Pas.
- Help filling out forms for Manitoba health card, SIN, child tax benefits, and travel documents.
- Settlement Guide.
- Support Information and assistance concerning immigration issues, Citizenship, Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program, Permanent Resident cards, Family sponsorship, and more.
- Help in finding community services such as schools, doctors, dentists, etc.
- Pre-arrival information and assistance.
- Language referrals.
- Employment and Training referral.
- Liaison and information for the community regarding issues that concern immigrants.
- Monthly Events/Information Sessions, Workshops.
- Housing assistance and referral.
- Employment assistance and referral.
