Changes to Eligibility for Settlement ServicesDate: 1st April 2026
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have announced changes to the eligibility criteria for federally funded settlement services. As a result of these updates, some clients may experience adjustments in the services they are able to access.
At North West Regional Immigrant Services Inc., we remain committed to supporting newcomers in our region and will continue to provide assistance to all clients within the scope of IRCC’s current eligibility rules and also serve clients within the scope of our other funders eligibility rules.

What This Means for Clients
Some individuals may no longer qualify for certain IRCC‑funded services – but they may be eligible under our local or Manitoba funding.
Our staff will continue to offer guidance and help clients understand what supports remain available.
We will provide referrals to appropriate community resources when needed.
